Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information TweetCam collects when you use our 1-on-1 video call service, how we use and store it, and the choices you have. By using TweetCam, you confirm you have read and understood it. If you don't agree with how we handle data here, please stop using the service.
1. What this policy covers
It applies to everyone who uses TweetCam — the website and any related services. In short, it covers what we collect and how, how we use and safeguard it, when we might share it, and what rights and choices you have over your own data.
2. Information you give us
Account details. If you create an account, we may collect an email address, a username or display name, a password, and optional basics like an avatar and date of birth (used to confirm you meet the age requirement). You can take your first video call without an account.
Conversations. Messages you send in the text chat, along with any support requests or feedback you send us.
Payment details. If you buy coins, we collect billing and transaction information. Payments run through third-party processors, and we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
3. Information we collect automatically
Device data. Device type, operating system, browser, and similar identifiers.
Usage data. Which features you use, how long you spend, and the pages that referred you.
Approximate location. A rough location derived from your IP address, used for matching and safety.
Log data. Server logs recording IP address, access times, and system activity.
4. Information from third parties
If you sign in through a third-party service such as Google, we may receive your name, email, and profile picture from that service. We may also receive aggregated, anonymized figures from analytics partners that help us understand overall usage.
5. How we use your information
We use what we collect to run and maintain the service, pair you with strangers on a video call, process payments, and personalize your experience. We also use it to send service notices and answer support requests, to detect and prevent fraud and abuse, to analyze usage so we can fix bugs and improve, and to meet our legal obligations and protect people's rights and safety.
6. Your private conversations stay private
Because TweetCam is built around one-to-one calls, it helps to be clear about what is and isn't visible to others:
- Video and voice calls happen live in a private room between you and one other person — there is no audience and nothing is broadcast.
- Text chat history is visible only to you and the person you were matched with. It is never displayed publicly.
- Your email and password are never shown to anyone. Passwords are stored encrypted and are not visible even to our staff.
Only details you choose to reveal during a conversation are shared, and only with the one person you're talking to. Please be thoughtful about what you say to someone you've just met.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the service is used. Essential cookies keep authentication and sessions working; functional and performance cookies remember settings and gather anonymous usage data. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though turning off essential ones may break parts of the service.
8. When we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate (such as payment processors and hosting), with analytics partners in anonymized form, and where we are legally required to — for example, to comply with the law or protect people's safety.
9. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to run the service, meet legal and security obligations, and resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, or to delete your account, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
11. Children's privacy
TweetCam is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn a minor has created an account, we remove it. See our Community Guidelines for the full rules.
12. Data security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and passwords are stored encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute safety — but we work to keep the risk low and act quickly if something goes wrong.
13. Updates and contact
We may update this policy as the product or the law changes, and we'll revise the date above when we do. Questions about your privacy? Write to [email protected] or visit the Contact Us page.
